Alternatives include Pierrogies, Fishsticks and Surf n Turf. Reserve a few berries for fishing Lobsters very easy and cheap healing. Plant some marble bushes early on or at least have 6 marbles. Ingredients: Marble Suit, Hambat, Campfire, Fuel, Sign Post, Lobster Bisque, Vegetable StingersĠ: Before day 30, aim to kill a werepig for hambat materials. Hambat is probably my favorite boss killing weapon. The other bosses require a bit more preparation but once you get the hang of it, you'll see it's super easy. Blocked pools means that the flame larvae can't reach you and will simply burn out. You don't even need an armor for this method and you're farming logs, at the same time.įor an easy (and cheesy) Dragonfly kill you can surround the magma pools with stonewalls and literally facetank her until it's dead. Just plant a forest and start kiting him in there, soon the Bearger will spawn a few Treeguard who will either kill the Bearger for you or simply weaken him just enough for you to kill him. You can use a similar tactic when you're fighting the Bearger. Pigs can help you, sometimes even the hound attack can be useful. This is the most straight forward way to fight it, but you can also lead the Deerclops into the Swamp and make him walk around tentacles, spiders, merms and whatever else there is until it's weak enough for you to finish him off. Kiting and dodging his attacks will extend the fight and you will surely go insane. Your sanity will always take a hit but it's faster if you just facetank the Deerclops and kill him asap. This way you can restore your sanity once the fighting is over or simply keep yourself topped off. Ideally when Winter comes you'll just go around and gather some cacti, once you hear Deerclops growling leave your base, build a fire and start cooking the cacti. If nightmare creatures are troubling you, just build a couple more log armors, helmets and some sanity food. That is all, good day to you and know that, no matter which game you choose to purchase, Don't Starve. As others have said, you can just facetank everything and your whole preparation for that would be two to three football helmets, two to three log suits (you can also use marble armor) and a hambat. There are so many people who click to pick up items, attack, all that stuff, when theres a keybind that lets them do it 100x easier. Also, please, to ANYONE who plays this game or DS, CHECK THE CONTROL MENU. Just know it's better to ask 'can i do something with this?' if you are unsure than to do something with it and then have it turn out that you just ate a mandrake and now everyone hates you. If you're planning on getting one game and then getting another, i'd highly recommend getting DST first, as if you switch from fighting a deerclops with 2k health to a deerclops with 4k health, it can seem much more difficult and way longer.Īnd if you have nobody to play with on DST, you can always join the Klei Dedicated servers, theres almost always people on (at least the north american servers) and there's people who can help you if you need it. The health values is balanced for multiplayer, but if you use good weapons and armor and know how to fight the bosses, it can be done quite easy to solo the bosses. If you do get the Hamlet and Shipwrecked DLCs (not RoG bc dst is based off of RoG), it can give you an experience that is quite different than anything you can do in DST (although i will mention there are some mods for DST that can add Shipwrecked, Adventure mode, and Hamlet, and while i haven't played much of the SW and AM ones, i can say that the Hamlet one (that I played, think it was called 'island adventures' or smth) it's not that good).ĭST on the other hand, is constantly getting updates, has new and reworked characters, can be played solo and multiplayer, and has cosmetics. The base DS game has little to offer, with the only notable things being adventure mode and unreworked characters.
